What is it that makes home exchange fun? Well for many people it is the opportunity to make new friends and visiting somewhere that you may not have been able to visit if you had to stay in a hotel for your entire stay. Sure you can save a lot of money but that is only part of the enjoyment one gets from a home exchange.

No matter if you exchange homes, timeshares' or your RV you will have the chance to make new friends both in your exchange partners as well as their neighbors or friends. The months, days and weeks leading up to a successful exchange will be filled with correspondence between each other. You may be sending letters and photos via mail or email as you become more comfortable and build trust. Trust is at the heart of home exchange! Without it you would not enjoy the exchange due to the anxiety you would feel.

Over the time leading up to your exchange you should be thinking of your exchange partner and how to make them feel more at ease in your home. Most of the time you will have a helpful neighbor who will be able to give your guests some local information and help should something unexpected arise. If you do not meet your guests during the home exchange to give them keys to your home then you most likely left keys with your neighbor or a close friend.

Chances are your exchange partner has arranged the same for you when you arrive at their house. So you see not only did you get to know the people you exchange with but you also may make a friend or two with the people that are helping you to find things in the local area or give you a tour of your new vacation home.

So go ahead and make some friends while you exchange homes and enjoy your stay.
