Many home exchangers choose a small room that can be used for this and lock all their items inside. If this is not a option then you may want to use your trusted friend or families home to temporarily store these items while you are off travelling the world and living like a local.

As a last resort you may want to rent a small storage area to keep your things. You should look for a convenient storage facility which offers monthly rental agreements.
